Health care services and assistance are offered to all residents of Green Pastures Retirement Village. The health care facility is staffed by registered professional nurses, carers and a full-time occupational therapist. A registered professional nurse is on duty 24 hours a day in case of an emergency. A healthcare clinic is also held monthly for residents in the independent living units (flats and cottages). Green Pastures also offers home-based care packages (at an additional fee) for those requiring short-term recuperative care.

We offer specialized care to those who are very frail or require dementia care. Access to the dementia care unit is strictly controlled via access codes and security.

Security is of the utmost importance to us. The entire perimeter of Green Pastures Rest Home is secured with high voltage electric fencing. Entrance and exit to the village is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by security guards. In addition, we have installed CCTV cameras for additional security. You can rest assured that our residents are kept safe at all times. Our highly skilled and trained armed response officers guarantee fast and efficient armed response 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

We are proud to provide a clean and pleasant living environment for our residents. All rooms, bathrooms and general areas are cleaned daily. We also offer laundry services for all residents.

We offer our residents three nutritious, balanced meals a day. Tea and coffee is provided four times a day. There is also a tuck shop available for residents who would like to purchase additional snacks.

Our nursing team manages the daily dispensing of medication from our pharmacy to residents. We currently make use of blister packaging.

Our beautiful gardens and walking paths allow for safe outdoor time for all residents, including those in wheelchairs. Benches are located at various points along the walking route.

We have fully functional back-up systems for water and electricity supplies, should the need arise.

We believe in the importance of regular social interaction. We therefore offer the following activities:

• weekly English and Afrikaans non-denominational church services,
• monthly birthday bash celebrations for all residents who had birthdays that month,
• games evenings,
• music and line dancing,
• regular concerts and performances by local schools from the Durbanville area.
